There will be a balance of our recommendations for your type of window, a few design constraints depending on the style, but the majority of the choice of configuration will be down to yourself. By the configuration we mean the way the shutter panels will open.

How are window shutters configured?

When we say shutter configuration, we mean the way in which the shutter panels will open. Our bespoke plantation shutters aren't just available in one style, there are various combinations you can choose to tailor the window shutters to your home design. To give you an idea of what is possible, below are some of the more common opening configurations.

One single door that hinges on the left and opens to the left.

One single door that hinges on the right and opens to the right.

Doors that hinge one to the right and one to the left.

Panel config LL

Two bi-fold bespoke plantation shutters that open to the left. This can also be RR with the two bi-folds opening to the right.

Panel config LLR

Two bi-fold window shutter blinds that open to the left and a single door to the right. This can also be LRR with the single door opening to the left and the two bi-folds opening to the right.
