Supplier Spotlight Series : BBSA – our professional membership

BBSA - our professional membership

Welcome to the final post of our twelve blog spotlight series on the suppliers we are proud to work with to serve you, our valued customers at Blind Technique! This week’s blog is shining a supplier spotlight on BBSA, the British Blind and Shutter Association who provide us with our professional membership to this national trade association within the custom blinds industry.

Our featured image is a close-up of work in progress on one of our custom blinds.

Blind Technique Ltd is proud to have been a full, accredited BBSA member since 2006. We have also been happy to attend their trade shows and trade days over the years, too. More recently we have joined their informative online webinars. We are delighted to offer you, our valued customers, the peace of mind which only comes from purchasing your window dressings from a bona-fide manufacturer who belongs to a professional membership body.

As BBSA clearly state themselves, they offer :”…impartial expert advice and guidance on blinds, awnings and shutters.” The British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA), based in Stowmarket, Suffolk, is the only national trade association for companies that manufacture, supply and install interior and exterior blinds, awnings, security grilles and shutters and associated motor and control systems. The BBSA has been established for 102 years (and counting!) and is over 500 members strong –  and growing.

Did you know that we are immensely proud to manufacture most of our window blinds locally in our Eastcote Showroom, Office and Workshop location? Most of our custom blinds are made by us using British designed and made components, on a handmade locally basis. For our Conservatory Blinds, our flagship product when we started out in 2004, we have great control over the production process as we locally manufacture conservatory and window blinds from the same family of fabrics today.

When we manufacture, we appreciate not just the structural design you are looking to achieve with your custom blinds, but the technical performance of the fabric you choose or one that we carefully recommend, too. Our thoughtful approach to design, performance and operational expertise is where we excel when we deliver both our product and service.
