Service Spotlight Series – Running Repairs Advice
July 21, 2021
Welcome to the tenth of twelve blog spotlights on the services we are proud to offer our customers at Blind Technique! Sometimes in the course of the lifetime of custom blinds, curtains, shutters and awnings you may encounter a situation when you need to consult an expert offering running repairs information and advice. We are delighted to help you to resolve common issues regarding the care and maintenance of your window dressings or honour our warranties on our own products where applicable.
The common issues we are referring to include operational issues such as when a blind becomes stuck, will not open, tilt or close. Child safety devices on a roller blind control chain can sometimes break away, as they are designed to, causing the chain to detach from the side winder. If you have motorised blinds, you may experience issues with the control unit not being charged or accidentally changing the limits and needing to reset. If you have pleated blinds, you may find that the pull cord can snap due to wear and tear after years of operation – if this is the case, we can record the occurrence and the best course of action could be to drop them into our Eastcote workshop for repair.
Our current running repairs advice process at Blind Technique is as follows:
- If you are an existing customer and the affected product is within warranty – when you contact us, one of our friendly and professional members of the team can assess the issue you are experiencing, ask you to send in images so we have clarity on the specifics of the matter in question, signpost you to our pages on Operation and Cleaning if relevant, or send an expert member of our installation team out to your home/office to resolve the problem on-site
- If you are an existing customer and the affected product is out of warranty – we can assist you as before and can book an installer to visit you at home but we will advise that this appointment will be a chargeable visit for this service
- If you are an existing customer and there is damage to the blinds – we can assist you as before and can book an installer to visit you at home but we will advise that this appointment will be a chargeable visit for this service
- If you are not an existing customer and the affected product is not ours – we can signpost you to information regarding common issues with your type of blind but we regret that we cannot rectify a product which has probably been manufactured in a different way to our own current window dressings product portfolio.
As ever, the team here at Blind Technique are passionate about our products and service and hope that you enjoy using your custom blinds and benefitting from the solar glare, temperature control and wind protection they can offer you. If we can help you resolve your running repairs if they arise, we will endeavour to do so.
